Funded Childcare

Funded Childcare for 3 and 4 year-olds

From the term after their third birthday, until they start school, your child is entitled to 15 funded hours of early learning per week, for 38 weeks a year during school term time.  At Pepper Hill School this is divided into daily 3 hour sessions, where your child will attend from Monday to Friday each week.

15 hours Funded Childcare

Pepper Hill School Nursery offer two 15 hour funded sessions:

  • Morning Session: 8.30am-11.30am
  • Afternoon Session: 12.15pm-3.15pm

What should I do?

Check the table below to see when your child is eligible:

Child born between Entitled from:
1 April and 31 August Start of Autumn funding period (from 1st September)
1 September and 31 December Start of Spring funding period (from 1st January)
1 January and 31 March Start of Summer funding period (from 1st April)

 

 

Please note, we are only able to accept children into our Nursery as per the table above.

30 hours Funded Childcare

Some children of working parents may be eligible for an extra 15 hours of funded early education.

Pepper Hill School Nursery offers a 30 hour session, divided into 6 hours per day, from 8.30am – 2.30pm,  with lunch provided.  Parents are able to pay to increase these hours by 45 minutes to take advantage of the full afternoon session, if they so wish, finishing at 3.15pm.

Tax-Free Childcare

The government introduced a Tax-Free Childcare scheme which can be used alongside the 15 and 30 hours of funded childcare.  You can apply for both the 30 hours and Tax-Free Childcare schemes through one online application.
