School Meals

We have a wonderful school kitchen at Stanton.  Chef Jason and his Kitchen Assistants provide nutritious meals for both Stanton School and Pepper Hill School children.

Our dedicated kitchen team provide a varied menu of meals that are nourishing and made with fresh ingredients every day.   We have listened to our children and we know what food they enjoy.  We include themed lunches throughout the year including Pancake Day, American Diner Day and a ‘Bon Appetite’ French Day.

The school lunch menus are now sent via ParentMail on a two-weekly cycle on a Thursday for completion by the following Tuesday.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can receive school meals at no cost to you. This is a universal entitlement for all infant aged children.  In addition, every child whose parent is receiving one of the welfare benefits listed will be eligible for Pupil Premium funding. This is extra money for the school, provided by government, to pay for targeted support for learning.

Any qualifying family that registers their eligibility for Pupil Premium will help raise money for the school.  The additional funding is £1320 for each registered child.  This is money the school can benefit from and use to provide additional teaching staff and new equipment.

The Early Years Pupil Premium provides an extra 53 pence per hour for three and four year old children whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits  This means an extra £302 a year for each nursery aged child taking up the full 570 hours funded entitlement to early education. This additional money could make a significant difference to us and to your child. We can use the extra funding in any way we choose to improve the quality of the early years education that we provide for your child. It is well documented that high quality early education can influence how well a child does at both primary and secondary school so we do want to make the most of this additional funding.

You can register and find out if your child is eligible by visiting the Citizens Portal.

The system is quick and simple to use and can be accessed via a smartphone or hand held device. If you qualify, please show the Application Summary to your school on your smartphone or print a copy for your school.

Please register with the portal, even if you have applied and been unsuccessful in the past. By doing so we will have your contact details and can inform you straight away if your eligibility changes.
